The safety of roads in the Canary Islands’ rugged landscape was brought into focus again this Tuesday following an accident in Tacoronte, Tenerife. According to the 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center, a 52-year-old woman was injured after falling down an embankment near the TF-16 road.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m., prompting a coordinated rescue effort. Due to the difficult terrain, the Tenerife Fire Department was called in to reach the woman and bring her to safety. Once rescued, she was treated by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) for moderate bruising before being taken to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands for further care.
