Woman Rescued After Fall at Tenerife’s Los Poleos Viewpoint
A woman was rescued by emergency teams and hospitalized with a moderate leg injury after falling near the Los Poleos viewpoint in Tenerife on Monday.
A rescue operation took place at the Los Poleos viewpoint in Santiago del Teide on Monday afternoon after a woman fell near the popular Tenerife landmark.
The Canary Islands 112 Emergency and Security Coordination Center reported that the difficult terrain required a specialized rescue. Members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium stabilized the woman and used a rescue stretcher to carry her to a waiting ambulance.
Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) assessed the patient, who had sustained a moderate leg injury. She was then taken to Hospiten Sur University Hospital for further treatment.
This incident serves as a reminder to exercise caution when visiting scenic areas in the Canary Islands. The region’s volcanic landscape can be challenging, and these emergencies highlight the importance of close coordination between fire, rescue, and medical teams when responding to accidents in hard-to-reach locations.
