A 39-year-old woman was hospitalized with moderate injuries following a complex vehicle extrication on Tenerife’s TF-152 road this past Saturday.

Road safety on Tenerife’s secondary routes is back in the spotlight after a crash on the TF-152 near El Sauzal this past Saturday. A 39-year-old woman suffered moderate injuries in the accident, which once again highlighted the difficulties emergency teams face when rescuing people from overturned vehicles on busy roads.

Emergency services were alerted shortly before 9:00 p.m. Because the driver was trapped inside her car, the Tenerife Fire Department had to perform a complex extrication. The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) also arrived on the scene, providing medical care for a head injury before transporting the woman to San Juan de Dios Hospital.

The incident caused traffic delays in the north of the island while crews worked at the scene. The Civil Guard is currently investigating what caused the driver to lose control, while road maintenance teams cleared the area. This accident serves as a reminder of the dangers on the island’s interurban roads, where challenging terrain and changing nighttime conditions require drivers to remain extra vigilant.
