Woman Critical After Cardiac Arrest, Head Injury at Tenerife's Bobo Beach

A 56-year-old woman was rescued in critical condition from Bobo beach in Adeje, Tenerife, after suffering a cardiac arrest and severe head injury in a rocky area, with emergency services stabilizing her before hospital transfer.

Emergency services on Tenerife's beaches responded quickly and effectively this Wednesday after a serious incident at Bobo beach in Adeje. A 56-year-old woman was pulled from the water in a critical condition. She had suffered a cardiac arrest and a severe head injury, according to the 112 Emergency and Security Coordinating Center. The incident occurred after the swimmer went into a rocky area.

Beach lifeguards immediately started CPR. When paramedics from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) arrived, they took over and managed to restart her heart and stabilize her. She was then taken by an SUC ambulance to Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital for specialized treatment. Local Police also played an active role in the emergency response.
