A 42-year-old woman died on Friday lunchtime after her car veered off the TF-5 highway and overturned. The accident happened on the Los Naranjos exit lane in Tacoronte, northern Tenerife.
Emergency services (CECOES 112) were alerted to the crash at 12:41 PM. They quickly sent two ambulances from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) – one with advanced medical equipment and another for basic care – along with firefighters from the Tenerife Fire Consortium, the Civil Guard, and road maintenance crews.
When paramedics arrived, they found the driver in cardiac arrest. They immediately started resuscitation efforts, but sadly, they could not revive her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were treated there, not needing to go to hospital.
Firefighters secured the vehicle and assisted other emergency teams. The Civil Guard began investigating the crash and managed traffic on the TF-5, which experienced temporary delays. Road maintenance crews then cleared the road to get traffic moving normally again.
