
Tenerife: cinema, music, fair and extreme races on the weekend
This weekend in Tenerife will feature a variety of events, including a screening of a French comedy, the Cristo de Tacoronte festivities, the Pisaca Fest in Santa Cruz, and a military-civilian race.
Tenerife won't let you get bored this weekend! Both the authorities and various organizations have made sure there's plenty to do on the island. Movies, music, sports – choose what you like and spend a few wonderful days. At TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes this weekend at 7:00 PM, they will be showing Emmanuel Mouret's new film "Three Friends" (Trois amies, 2024). This is a French comedy-drama that was nominated for the "Golden Lion" at the Venice Film Festival. The film tells the story of the friendship and love of three women who are going through different stages of life: from disappointment to reconciliation, betrayal, and breakups. The film will be shown in French with Spanish subtitles, so it will be both funny and a little sad.
The celebrations of Cristo de Tacoronte are ongoing in Tacoronte. On Saturday, you can expect entertainment for the whole family, sports competitions, and religious events, all culminating in folk festivities. On Sunday, in addition to religious events, the XXXIX Craft Fair will take place. And in the evening, the band Los Cantadores will perform, with Falete as a special guest. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the El Toscal district, the main day of the Pisaca Fest is celebrated this Saturday, running from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. For the youngest, there will be inflatable attractions and workshops until 8:00 PM, and at 12:30 PM, two wonderful shows will be presented: "The Lion King" and "Clown Canita". The music program will start at 2:00 PM: Dj Rayco Sánchez (from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM), Dj Toni de la Calle (from 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM), bands Almas de Goma (from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM) and Sureto (from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM).
In the afternoon, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the band La Cagaste Burt Lancaster will play covers of Hombres G songs, followed by performances by Agua del Chorro (from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM) and Hydra 2.0 (from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM). A DJ surprise will end the evening (from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM). A food court will be open throughout the day.
In Santa Cruz de Tenerife this Sunday, the XII OCR Crossfast Race Cívico-Militar will take place – a unique sporting event that brings together civilians and military personnel. Participants will have to overcome more than 70 obstacles. The competition will start at 08:30 at the Hoya Fría barracks.
