Viral Orchestra Nueva Línea to Perform at 2026 Santa Cruz Murgas Final
Popular Tenerife orchestra Nueva Línea will perform at the 2026 Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival's Grand Final of Adult Murgas on January 31st, entertaining the audience during jury deliberations.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council announced on Monday that the popular Tenerife orchestra, Nueva Línea, will perform at the Grand Final of Adult Murgas for the 2026 Carnival. The event is set for Saturday, January 31st, at 8:00 PM at the Fairgrounds. Nueva Línea will entertain the audience while the jury deliberates.
Nueva Línea has become incredibly popular this year. Their performances have racked up millions of views on social media. The orchestra's fame grew quickly after their version of the well-known song Noche de Copas went viral, surpassing 40 million plays and becoming one of the most listened-to songs in the country.
Santa Cruz Mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, said, "Nueva Línea is already a classic at the chicharrero Carnival, having performed there for years. We are proud that their great professionalism and perseverance have made them so popular right now." The mayor added, "We'll not only get to dance with this orchestra at the murgas final but also during the street Carnival."
Javier Caraballero, the Councilor for Fiestas, added, "We will greatly enjoy the murgas final, not just because of the quality of the groups who reach it, but also thanks to Nueva Línea, who will make the wait for the winners much more enjoyable."
The Murgas Final is one of the most anticipated events of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, a popular mask festival.
For this year's final, the eight murgas with the highest scores from the four preliminary rounds, held between January 26th and 29th, will compete. Tickets for the final sold out within an hour and a half of going on sale.
While the jury deliberates, the audience can enjoy Nueva Línea's special performance, featuring some of their popular songs on the Fairgrounds stage.
The 2026 Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, which is dedicated to Latin Rhythms this year, will run until February 22nd.
