The Victoria Theatre in Santa Cruz de Tenerife concludes its 24th Encuentros Festival this week with final performances by La Conexión and El Pacto, accompanied by interactive audience discussions.

The Victoria Theatre in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is reaching the final stage of its 24th Encuentros Festival. This long-running event, a key platform for contemporary arts in the Canary Islands, will wrap up this week with two final productions from local group La Conexión and the Cantabrian company El Pacto.

The festival concludes this Friday at 7:30 p.m. with Devolvemos la conexión. Performers Joel Morales and Ignacio de la Lastra, supported by technician Isidro de Andrade, present a satirical take on the world of radio, centered on a desperate attempt to break a broadcasting record. The show blends improvisation, urban music, and parody, and will be followed by a discussion led by creator Fer Delgado.

Over the weekend, the Cantabrian company El Pacto will present Parkking on Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. This production moves away from traditional storytelling, using contemporary dance, physical movement, and props to explore themes of isolation and alienation. Framed as a fictional interview, the piece offers a deep look into the psyche of a lonely character. Following Saturday’s performance, artist Cristina Hernández Cruz will host a Q&A session to discuss the show with the audience.

The Encuentros Festival remains vital for bringing diverse cultural experiences to the region and fostering connections between artists from different areas. By hosting post-show discussions, the Victoria Theatre encourages spectators to move beyond being passive observers, inviting them to engage directly with the modern theatrical works shaping today’s stage.
