Canary Islands fantasy literature has reached a new milestone with the completion of the Esencia trilogy. In just one year, author Verónica Ramírez Hermoso has successfully brought her narrative project to a close. As reported by Diario de Avisos, she will present the final volume, La esencia del núcleo, this Friday, September 25, at 6:00 p.m. at TEA (Tenerife Espacio de las Artes).

This final book completes a journey that began with Esencia oculta and continued with Guardianes de la esencia. Ramírez Hermoso’s work is notable for blending speculative elements with a modern-day setting, moving beyond traditional fantasy tropes to explore pressing ethical questions. The story follows Sara, a biology student, using the backdrop of a global health crisis to examine human nature, personal autonomy, and how we manage our emotions amid collective pressure.

The trilogy’s creation was an organic process. The three-book structure was not planned from the start; instead, it evolved as the author expanded her universe—where science and magic coexist—based on feedback from those around her. The final installment spans 250 pages.

Beyond wrapping up the arcs of protagonists Sara and Noa, the conclusion offers a reflection on the limits of personal sacrifice during times of social collapse.
