The Canary Islands will celebrate Venezuela Day for the first time: music, dancing, and delicious food
The first Day of Venezuela will take place in La Laguna, in the Canary Islands, on October 11, with music, dances, food, and entertainment for the whole family.
On Saturday, October 11, the first Day of Venezuela in the Canary Islands will take place in the Taco district of La Laguna (El Polvorín area)! This is a celebration to introduce everyone to the culture of this country and strengthen friendship between Venezuelans and residents of the Canary Islands.
The best of Venezuela awaits you: music, dances, delicious food, handicrafts and much more. There will also be Latin American artists living on the islands, and charity events.
The Mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, says that Venezuela and the Canary Islands have a long-standing friendship, as many Venezuelans moved here to live in the 20th century. And now a large Venezuelan community lives on the islands, especially in La Laguna. The Mayor believes that this is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the culture of Venezuela, its delicious cuisine, crafts and traditional games.
The whole family will have fun at the festival! For children, there will be an area with inflatable slides, face painting and clowns. There will also be a large gastronomic exhibition where you can taste traditional Venezuelan dishes, desserts and drinks. There will also be an exhibition where Venezuelan entrepreneurs will present their handicrafts, clothing, products and services.
In addition, the Day of Venezuela will feature sports and cultural events: dance therapy, a salsa exhibition and traditional dances. The celebration will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will last all day. Performances by various musical groups playing gaitas, drum rhythms, llanera music, salsa, merengue, bachata, as well as performances by a disc jockey await you. Come, it will be fun!
