The Vargas Blues Band is playing a concert tomorrow, Friday, at 9:30 PM in La Laguna. They'll be performing songs from their new album, "Down Under Blues," at the Aguere Cultural Space. This is part of the 11th International DocuRock Festival.

You can buy tickets online in advance at canaryticket.es for 18 euros. On the day of the show, tickets will be 25 euros at the venue's box office.

The Vargas Blues Band has been around since 1991 and is still touring internationally. They recently visited Australia for the first time to share their new album. "Down Under Blues" features nine blues-rock tracks where Javier Vargas's guitar playing goes beyond traditional blues, giving the genre a fresh feel with emotional lyrics and skilled guitar work.

Javier Vargas is considered a living legend on the electric guitar. His unique blues style is inspired by rock & roll, soul, Latin music, and flamenco, appealing to a wide range of listeners.

Since 1991, the band has released 28 albums and achieved eight platinum records for high sales. Their debut album, "All Around Blues" (1991), was followed by "Madrid-Memphis" (1992), which became the best-selling blues album in Europe at the time.

Javier Vargas's dedication to blues is evident in his many recordings, including "Move On" (2019), and "Del Sur" and "The Very Best of Vargas Blues Band" (both 2020). In 2021, he released "Back in Memphis," which features guest artists and was recorded in Memphis.

Last year, the Vargas Blues Band opened for The Rolling Stones in Madrid. In 2023, they released "Tributo al Rock Argentino" and a double album, "Stoner Night." They also released "Best of My Blues" and "Blues Magic," a live album recorded in Madrid with guest performers like Miguel Ríos and John Parsons.

The DocuRock 11 festival is supported by the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Government of the Canary Islands (through the Canary Institute for Cultural Development), and the Culture Department of the La Laguna City Council.
