Santa Cruz will strengthen control and repair damages in the Los Charcos de Valleseco area due to acts of vandalism.

In Santa Cruz, control will be tightened in the Los Charcos de Valleseco area due to vandalism. Cases of property damage have become more frequent there, so local authorities will increase the number of police patrols and restore everything that the hooligans broke.

This was announced by the mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, during a visit to the recreation area. He was accompanied by his deputy Carlos Tarife, security advisor Gladys de León, port administration representative Pedro Suárez, and technical specialists.

Bermúdez emphasized: "We see what those who do not value public space have done. We will repair everything by December. The police have been instructed to fine those who violate the rules of using the recreation area."

Carlos Tarife added: "We plan to restore some areas using stronger materials so that they last longer. For example, we will replace the handrails with steel ones, and we will improve the flooring in the showers. The cost of the work is still being clarified, but we promise to do everything by the end of the year."

Gladys de León emphasized: "In addition to restoration, we will strengthen security to protect those who respect this place, who come here to relax with family or friends and enjoy nature."

The city authorities are already purchasing the necessary materials for repairs. It is expected that the situation will improve in the coming weeks, and everything will be fully restored by the end of the year. The authorities call on residents to treat public property responsibly, respect nature, and report cases of vandalism.
