The formal establishment of the Urban Conservation Entity for the Valle de Güímar Industrial Estate marks a significant milestone in Tenerife, providing a stable public-private framework to professionalize infrastructure management and boost economic investment.

The formal establishment of the Urban Conservation Entity (EUC) for the Valle de Güímar Industrial Estate marks a major turning point for infrastructure management in Tenerife. As reported by El Día, this move follows over a decade of negotiations and finally provides the industrial park with a stable legal framework for its day-to-day operations.

This agreement introduces a public-private partnership involving the Island Council (Cabildo), the municipalities of Arafo, Candelaria, and Güímar, and the local business community. This model aims to end years of administrative gridlock, ensuring that essential services—such as lighting, water networks, road maintenance, and green spaces—are properly managed.

The EUC is launching with an initial budget of 450,000 euros, comprised of 200,000 euros from the Cabildo and 250,000 euros from the Mixed Compensation Association. Moving forward, the maintenance of the two-million-square-meter site—which spans Arafo (52.98%), Güímar (29.30%), and Candelaria (17.72%)—will be funded by proportional fees paid by property owners, supported by an annual 50,000-euro contribution from each of the four public administrations.

Beyond physical repairs, this shift provides the legal certainty needed to support a key sector for the island's economic growth. By professionalizing how the estate is run, authorities hope to attract new investment by offering a competitive, well-maintained industrial environment. With property owners now required to keep facades and access points in top condition, the goal is to establish the Valle de Güímar as a premier hub for business in the Canary Islands.
