Valeria Castro Announces Music Hiatus Citing Mental Health Concerns
Canarian singer Valeria Castro announced a break from music to prioritize her mental and physical health, postponing upcoming concerts and her Latin American tour.
Canarian singer Valeria Castro shared on social media Thursday that she's taking a break from music. She's feeling exhausted and needs to focus on her mental health.
This decision comes after some controversy surrounding her performance on OT 2025. She received both criticism and support online after the show.
"The last few months have been tough, and lately, it's all been getting to me," the artist from La Palma wrote. She admitted to feeling like she's "fading" despite trying her best at every concert.
Castro explained that she's made this choice after thinking it over and talking to experts. She needs a "small break" to recover "physically and mentally."
The singer of "La raíz" and "Ay, amor" wants to return to performing, but only when she's feeling better.
She's rescheduling her October and November concerts for sometime between December and February. Her Latin American tour will now happen in spring 2026. Tickets already bought will still be good for the new dates, or fans can get a refund. She'll announce the new dates soon.
Valeria Castro, known for her delicate voice and personal style, is a rising star in Spanish music. In 2022, she received the DIARIO DE AVISOS Taburiente Award for her talent, sensitivity, and connection to her roots.
