Urgent Search Underway for Missing 82-Year-Old Man in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Authorities in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have launched an urgent search for 82-year-old José Donato Mesa Noda, who has been missing since Sunday and requires medical supervision.
There is growing concern in Santa Cruz de Tenerife over the disappearance of 82-year-old José Donato Mesa Noda, who has been missing since Sunday afternoon.
Authorities launched a search after his family filed a report at the North District Police Station on Monday. He was last seen near Avenida Príncipes de España.
The situation is urgent, as Mr. Mesa Noda, who lives in the Miramar neighborhood, suffers from episodes of disorientation. His family also noted that he requires medical supervision due to a pacemaker. He was last seen when he mentioned he was heading to the Ofra health center around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday; he has not been heard from since.
The search is complicated by the fact that Mr. Mesa Noda frequently traveled between Santa Cruz and La Laguna using public transport, widening the area police need to cover.
Spanish authorities have activated standard protocols for missing persons, which prioritize sharing the individual's photo quickly when there are concerns about cognitive health or medical needs. Police are now urging the public to come forward with any information that could help locate him.
