Civil Guards at Tenerife North Airport seized an antique revolver from a passenger's suitcase after the owner failed to provide necessary paperwork or follow proper transport procedures.

Civil Guards at a Tenerife airport found an antique revolver in a suitcase. The owner didn't have the necessary paperwork for it, nor had they followed the correct procedure for transporting such an item.

Officers from the Fiscal and Border Section and the Fiscal and Border Analysis and Investigation Unit (UDAIFF) at Tenerife North Airport (also known as Ciudad de la Laguna Airport) spotted a real gun in a passenger's checked luggage. Working with private security staff at the airport, the Civil Guards found the item using an X-ray scanner.

They confirmed that the weapon was in a suitcase belonging to a passenger flying to Madrid, and then located the owner. The suitcase was opened in front of the owner, revealing the antique revolver. The passenger explained that the gun was a family heirloom but admitted they had no documents for it.

After checking the situation and noting the specific security rules for carrying weapons in luggage, the UDAIFF officers wrote a police report. This report was then sent to the relevant legal authorities.

The revolver has been taken to the Weapons Control Department of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Command for safekeeping.
