University of La Laguna Opens Extraordinary Enrollment for 953 Remaining Spots
The University of La Laguna has opened an extraordinary registration period for 953 remaining undergraduate spots as it prepares for an expected total enrollment of nearly 22,000 students for the 2026-27 academic year.
The University of La Laguna (ULL) is gearing up for the 2026-27 academic year, reinforcing its position as a key educational hub in the Canary Islands. The university reports that 17,452 students are already enrolled in undergraduate and double-degree programs. This number is expected to rise further once the final admission phase is complete.
The current enrollment reflects a stable academic structure. Of these students, 13,482 are continuing their studies, joined by international students and those transferring from other institutions. Additionally, 3,970 new students were admitted during the initial June enrollment period, which concluded in late July with only 182 spots remaining on waiting lists.
To fill remaining vacancies, the university has opened an extraordinary registration period for 953 spots. Interested students can apply starting August 26 at 10:00 a.m. until August 28 at 2:00 p.m. A single round of admissions will take place on September 2, with a waiting list activated on September 9.
Available spots include programs such as Technical Architecture, Fine Arts, Economics, Philosophy, History, various Engineering branches, Sociology, and Tourism. This process ensures that public resources are used efficiently by filling remaining capacity.
When including master’s programs, doctoral degrees, and other specialized courses, the university expects to reach nearly 22,000 students. This forecast aligns with recent trends, confirming the ULL’s vital role in meeting the Canary Islands' educational needs.
