University of La Laguna Launches New Academic Program for Canary Islands Cultural Sector
The University of La Laguna and the Canary Institute of Cultural Development have launched a new interdisciplinary micro-credential program to enhance the professional skills of the Canary Islands' cultural sector.
The University of La Laguna (ULL) and the Canary Institute of Cultural Development (ICDC) have launched a new academic initiative to help professionals in the Canary Islands’ cultural sector succeed in an increasingly complex field. The program aims to equip workers with the analytical skills needed to navigate the intersection of science, business management, and public policy.
The curriculum consists of three university micro-credentials covering contemporary cultural management, the economics of art, and neuroaesthetics. This interdisciplinary approach is designed to meet current labor market demands by blending scientific insights into human perception with sustainable business practices and European cultural policies. The 30-hour course offers a flexible format, combining in-person classes with virtual learning, recorded sessions, and tutorial support.
Starting Monday, April 27, the program aims to connect the local art scene with global market trends. The teaching staff includes experts from diverse fields, ranging from neuroscience to the creative economy.
While the official enrollment platform is still being finalized, those interested in registering or learning more can contact the university directly at agonzabr@ull.edu.es. This initiative highlights the ULL’s commitment to knowledge sharing and demonstrates how public-institutional partnerships can boost the competitiveness of the archipelago’s creative industries.
