"Under the Volcano," filmed in Tenerife, became a Netflix hit, leading to a sequel, "Under a Fire," starring William Levy and his daughter, Kailey Levy.

Netflix updates its movies and shows every week, adding content designed to appeal to its viewers.

The movie "Under the Volcano" was filmed in various natural spots on the island of Tenerife, particularly in the north. The town of Garachico and its surrounding areas provided some of the film's most recognizable scenery.

The Canary Islands' volcanic landscape played a key role in the film, enhancing the story. This production further cements the Canary Islands' reputation as a popular filming location in Spain.

"Under the Volcano" was released in theaters on June 20 and attracted just over 30,000 viewers. However, when it arrived on Netflix on October 10, everything changed.

In less than a week, the movie, directed by Martín Cuervo, entered Netflix's global Top 10, becoming one of the most popular films on the platform. The story of Mario, a military pilot stationed in Tenerife due to a possible volcanic eruption, and Elena, a volcanologist determined to prevent disaster, has resonated with Netflix users.

Following the success of "Under the Volcano," Secuoya Studios has already begun working on a sequel, titled "Under a Fire," which was also filmed in Tenerife. Actor William Levy will return as Mario Torres, continuing the story a year after the events of the first film.

While the plot is still under wraps, we know the main character will face a difficult breakup and a new catastrophe. Additionally, William Levy's 15-year-old daughter, Kailey Levy, will make her acting debut in this film, sharing the screen with her father.

Filming has already started, and several familiar faces from the original cast will be back for the sequel, including Adriana Torrebejano, Claudia Álvarez, and Antón Lofer.
