Two Tenerife Restaurants Earn First Michelin Stars
Two Tenerife restaurants, El Taller Seve Díaz and Haydée by Víctor Suárez, earned their first Michelin Stars at the November 25th awards gala in Malaga, significantly boosting Canarian cuisine on the national stage.
Food is a huge draw for tourists, with many people planning their trips around culinary experiences. Chef Dabiz Muñoz, for example, has seen this trend firsthand many times.
The Michelin Star awards gala took place on November 25th in Malaga. At the event, 25 restaurants earned their first star in the 2026 Guide. Among these new awardees, two restaurants are located in Tenerife.
This double win brought immense pride to the restaurant teams and the island, and it also gave a significant boost to Canarian food on the national stage.
El Taller Seve Díaz
Chef Seve Díaz has been rewarded for his dedication to bringing the flavours of Tenerife's sea, land, and history to the table. He achieves this through tasting menus prepared with local ingredients, some even from his own farm.
El Taller Seve Díaz is located at San Felipe Street, 32, Puerto de la Cruz (Santa Cruz de Tenerife). It opens Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. On Saturdays, it's open from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
The restaurant offers a "surprise menu" for 68 euros per person. This six-course meal is creatively prepared by the team and includes a cold starter, a hot starter, fish, meat, a pre-dessert, and a dessert.
There's also a "Long Menu" for 96 euros per person, featuring eleven courses designed to provide a complete dining experience. Dishes on this menu might include tuna with Flor cheese and sun-dried tomato, white prawn with cherry, wreckfish with green apple and cucumber, scallop, a liquid croquette (a nod to Iberian acorn-fed ham with crispy crumbs), eggplant with coffee, pistachio and ricotta, stew ravioli, Canarian sea bass, confit suckling pig, and particha (banana and coffee) and chickpea (green lemon and spices) desserts.
Haydée by Víctor Suárez
The restaurant is named Haydée, a tribute to Chef Víctor Suárez's grandmother, who first sparked his love for cooking. Its cuisine focuses on local and locally sourced ingredients.
Haydée offers two distinct menus. The "Atlántico" (Atlantic) menu reflects the journey between Tenerife and La Gomera, showcasing a cuisine shaped by the sea and the surrounding land. This menu begins with Gomero caviar and lupini beans, followed by tomato and basil kombucha, fermented tomato and king crab, squid salpicon, wheat chin, black wreckfish in boiled mojo and pil pil foam, and finally, mud-wrapped goat kid wrapped in a banana leaf. To finish this unique meal, sweet treats include banana, gofio, small pastries, and Canarian timba. The Atlántico menu costs 130 euros per person, or 180 euros with wine pairing.
The "Raíz" (Root) menu draws inspiration from the history and landscape of La Gomera. Dishes on this menu include Gomero caviar, lupini beans, liquid garlic omelet, rabbit tartlet in salmorejo, goat stew arepita, tomato and basil kombucha, squid salpicon, black wreckfish in boiled mojo, or mud-wrapped goat kid wrapped in a banana leaf, among others. This menu costs 165 euros per person, increasing to 180 euros with wine pairing.
Haydée by Víctor Suárez is located on Unterhacing Street, in The Corner Adeje Shopping Center, Costa Adeje (Santa Cruz de Tenerife). It opens Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. On Saturdays, it's open from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM and from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
