Two people were left in serious condition following a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Tenerife's TF-1 motorway early this morning.

Road safety on Tenerife is back in the spotlight following a serious crash on the TF-1 motorway early this morning.

The accident occurred around 3:20 a.m. near kilometer 70 in Arona. According to the Canary Islands’ 112 emergency service, a car and a motorcycle collided, leaving two people with severe injuries.

Emergency teams launched a major response, deploying four medical units to the scene. A woman, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital. The 40-year-old male driver was transported to the Canary Islands University Hospital. Both are currently in serious condition with multiple trauma injuries.

While road crews worked to clear the scene and restore traffic, the Civil Guard began an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks faced by motorcyclists on the island’s high-speed roads.
