A 24-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man were moderately injured on Friday after two cars crashed head-on. The accident happened on the TF-66 road, close to Arona in southern Tenerife. This information comes from the Canary Islands Government's emergency services (CECOES 1-1-2).
The crash happened around 8:23 AM, bringing out several emergency teams. Firefighters from the Tenerife Fire Brigade Consortium arrived with two fire engines and a command vehicle. They made the scene safe and freed one person from each car.
Paramedics from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) treated both injured people at the scene. They had moderate bruising and were then taken by ambulance to Hospiten Sur University Hospital.
Meanwhile, Guardia Civil officers managed traffic and wrote up a report on the incident. The Tenerife Island Council's Road Conservation Service then cleaned up the road and made it safe again.
The crash caused temporary traffic delays on the TF-66 throughout the morning as rescue teams worked and the damaged vehicles were removed. However, traffic returned to normal once the emergency work was finished.
