Two Injured in TF-1 Motorway Crash in Tenerife
Two men were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision on Tenerife’s TF-1 motorway near Arico late Tuesday night.
Road safety on the TF-1 motorway is back in the spotlight after a crash last Tuesday night left two men, aged 33 and 48, with injuries. The accident occurred near Las Eras in Arico, once again highlighting the risks of driving on Tenerife’s main highway, particularly at night when poor visibility and driver fatigue become major concerns.
The collision involved two cars and caused one of them to overturn. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before midnight. Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) stabilized both men before taking them to local hospitals: the 33-year-old was transported to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital, and the 48-year-old was taken to San Juan de Dios Hospital.
The Civil Guard managed traffic at the scene and has launched an investigation to determine what caused the crash. Firefighters were also on hand to secure the area and the damaged vehicles, while road maintenance crews cleared debris to reopen the motorway.
This incident is another addition to the growing number of accidents on the island’s major roads, which often require a large-scale emergency response to keep traffic moving. Authorities are now working to determine whether the rollover was caused by human error or other external factors.
