Two men were injured, one seriously, following a collision between two heavy goods vehicles at the Valle de Güímar Industrial Estate in Tenerife this afternoon.

Road safety in the Canary Islands' industrial zones is under scrutiny again after a serious crash this afternoon at the Valle de Güímar Industrial Estate in Arafo, Tenerife. According to the 1-1-2 Emergency and Security Coordination Center, two men, aged 53 and 58, were injured when their heavy goods vehicles collided. One of the men is in serious condition.

Emergency services were alerted shortly after 2:00 p.m., triggering a complex rescue operation. Firefighters from the Tenerife Consortium had to cut one of the drivers free after he became trapped in his cab. Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service stabilized both men; the more seriously injured driver was rushed to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands, while the second man was treated at the scene and did not require hospital transport.

Accidents like this in busy logistics hubs highlight the risks faced by transport workers. Local police are managing traffic in the area and investigating the cause of the crash. The incident serves as a reminder of the need for extreme caution in industrial areas, where the presence of large trucks significantly increases the danger of any collision.
