
Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Tenerife’s TF-5 Highway
Two people were hospitalized, one with serious injuries, following a multi-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the TF-5 in La Laguna on Wednesday night.
Road accidents on the TF-5 are back in the spotlight following a crash in La Laguna this Wednesday, August 19. According to the Canary Islands' 112 Emergency Coordination Center, the incident involved several cars and a motorcycle shortly before 9:30 p.m., triggering a major emergency response on one of the island's busiest roads.
Two people, aged 23 and 24, were injured in the collision. Paramedics stabilized both victims at the scene before transporting them to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital. The 23-year-old is reported to have serious injuries, while the 24-year-old’s condition is considered mild.
The Civil Guard is now investigating the cause of the accident to determine exactly how the collision occurred. Meanwhile, road maintenance crews worked to clear the scene and restore traffic flow.
This incident highlights the ongoing risks faced by motorcyclists on high-speed roads. Given the high volume of traffic on the TF-5, authorities are reviewing whether human error or other factors contributed to the crash. There is currently no further update on the condition of those hospitalized.
