Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Tenerife’s TF-1 Motorway
Two men were hospitalized with moderate injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on Tenerife’s TF-1 motorway near Candelaria on Monday night.
Road safety on Tenerife’s main highways is back in the spotlight after a multi-vehicle crash on the TF-1 motorway this Monday. The accident occurred around 10:55 p.m. near the Punta Larga exit in Candelaria, heading south. According to the Canary Islands' 112 emergency service, two people were left with moderate injuries.
Responding to the crash required a coordinated effort from several agencies, including the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the Tenerife Fire Consortium, the Civil Guard, and the island’s road maintenance crew. This teamwork is vital not only for providing medical care but also for clearing the road quickly to prevent further accidents, which are a significant risk at night.
Two men were taken to local hospitals for treatment. A 35-year-old man with abdominal injuries was transported by a medicalized ambulance to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital. A 27-year-old man, suffering from moderate back injuries, was taken to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.
The Civil Guard is currently investigating the cause of the crash. The incident serves as a reminder of the risks on the island’s busy roads, where authorities must remain vigilant to improve safety and reduce the number of accidents.
