Two Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Tenerife’s TF-1 Motorway
Two people were hospitalized with moderate injuries following a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Tenerife’s TF-1 motorway in Güímar on Thursday.
Accident rates on Tenerife’s major roads are back in the spotlight following a crash on the TF-1 motorway this Thursday. Emergency services reported that a collision between a car and a motorcycle in the municipality of Güímar left two people injured.
The incident was reported to the 112 emergency center at 2:34 p.m., once again highlighting the risks faced by motorcyclists in heavy traffic. The victims, a 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, were both on the motorcycle when the crash occurred. After receiving treatment at the scene, they were taken to local hospitals—the man to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands and the woman to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital. Both are reported to have suffered moderate leg injuries.
The emergency response involved two medical units, the Civil Guard, and road maintenance crews. The Civil Guard is now investigating the cause of the crash, while maintenance teams worked to clear the road and ensure it was safe for travel.
This collision serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a safe distance and exercising caution when changing lanes or merging on high-speed roads. Authorities are currently working to determine if the accident was caused by an improper maneuver or the specific traffic conditions on that stretch of the TF-1.
