Two people were hospitalized with moderate injuries following a vehicle rollover on Tenerife's TF-1 highway near Hoya Fría on Monday.

Road safety on the TF-1, a vital route for Tenerife, is back in the spotlight following a crash near Hoya Fría this Monday. According to the Canary Islands' emergency services (CECOES 112), a vehicle overturned around 11:00 a.m., leaving two 69-year-old passengers injured.

Both victims were taken to local hospitals with moderate injuries: the woman was transported to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands, while the man was admitted to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria.

Emergency teams, including the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), responded to the scene to stabilize and transport the pair. The Civil Guard is currently investigating the cause of the rollover, while the Tenerife Island Council’s road maintenance crew worked to clear debris and restore traffic flow.

Incidents like this highlight the challenges of managing one of the island’s busiest highways. Authorities continue to focus on reducing accidents on the TF-1, where responding to crashes requires not only urgent medical care but also complex coordination to clear the road and minimize traffic disruptions.
