In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, police and firefighters rescued seven abandoned animals from a house, following reports from neighbors about their prolonged unsupervised confinement.

In the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, local police, together with firefighters and the national police, rescued seven animals. They were found in house number 28 on Febles Campos Street, and it appeared that no one was taking care of them.

It all started when the neighbors raised the alarm. They said that for more than a week they had been hearing barking and other animal sounds from the house, but no people had been seen there.

The police immediately arrived at the scene and made sure that this was the case. Animal sounds were heard from the house, and it smelled very unpleasant. Therefore, the police decided that the animals may have been abandoned and were being mistreated.

In order to get inside and see what was happening with the animals, the police asked the firefighters for help. They helped to open the door safely. Five dogs and two birds of prey were found in the house. The animals were in terrible condition and lived in filth.

The national police also joined the case and dealt with legal issues. The animals were taken to a safe place and handed over to veterinarians so that they could receive the necessary care.

Gladys de León, the city councilor for security issues in Santa Cruz, thanked the firefighters and the national police for their help. She also noted that it was thanks to the vigilant neighbors that these animals were rescued.
