Two Critically Injured in Serious Motorcycle Crash on Tenerife’s TF-42
Two people were hospitalized with severe injuries following a collision between a heavy vehicle and a motorcycle on Tenerife’s TF-42 road in Garachico this Thursday.
Road safety on Tenerife’s secondary roads is back in the spotlight following a serious accident in Garachico this Thursday. A collision between a heavy vehicle and a motorcycle at kilometer 13 of the TF-42 has left two people with severe injuries, once again highlighting the risks faced by motorcyclists on the island’s roads.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash shortly after noon. A 54-year-old man was critically injured and required stabilization at the scene before being rushed to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands. A 32-year-old woman was also transported to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria University Hospital with a serious leg injury.
The emergency response involved the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the Civil Guard, local police, and road maintenance crews. A passing ambulance happened to be in the area at the time of the crash, allowing for immediate medical assistance, which proved vital for the victims.
The Civil Guard is now investigating the cause of the accident. The incident has renewed concerns about road safety, particularly regarding the challenges of navigating the TF-42, where visibility and road layout require extra caution when heavy vehicles and motorcycles share the road. Traffic returned to normal once the scene was cleared, and officials are currently working to finalize their report on the collision.
