The Tropicalia Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary on August 29 at La Laguna’s José Segura Clavell Park, featuring headliner Matías Aguayo and a diverse lineup across four themed stages.

The Canary Islands’ cultural calendar is gearing up for the summer edition of the Tropicalia Festival, set to take place on August 29 at José Segura Clavell Park in La Laguna. Since its launch in 2016, the festival has become a key event for contemporary music and interactive performances, marking its tenth anniversary this year.

The headline act for this year is producer and DJ Matías Aguayo. Known for his work in creative hubs like Berlin, Paris, and Buenos Aires, Aguayo is celebrated for blending electronic music with singer-songwriter elements and immersive stage performances. His appearance highlights the festival's focus on creating deep connections between artists and the audience, rather than just hosting standard musical sets.

The festival will feature four distinct areas: the Tropic, Carnaval, Club, and Jungle stages. The lineup balances local talent with international artists to offer a diverse experience:

  • Tropic Stage: Matías Aguayo, Jela & Javadub, Afroclásicos, and Makai.
  • Carnaval Stage: Sistah Vibes, Emi Castilla, Román, Elede, and DJ Dream.
  • Club Stage: Monterreina, Souldance Canarias, DJ CHK, Discolate Crew, and The Fonkfenomeno Show.
  • Jungle Stage: Chola, Mito, Killa, Suga7 & Obscense Frequency, and Miyagi & Friends.

Supported by the Government of the Canary Islands and Tourism of Tenerife, Tropicalia continues to play a vital role in revitalizing the local cultural scene. By celebrating a decade of sound experimentation, the festival reinforces La Laguna’s position as a central hub for contemporary culture in the archipelago.
