Road repairs are starting in Santa Cruz de Tenerife near the Cruz del Señor tram stop, with temporary traffic diversions and parking restrictions.

In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, road repairs will begin on Monday near the Cruz del Señor tram stop (Islas Canarias Avenue). The old paving stones will be removed and a new surface will be laid.

To ensure that everyone can travel safely and conveniently, traffic will be temporarily diverted to Santiago Beyro Street and then to Manuel Oraá y Arcocha Street. The direction of traffic will be temporarily changed on the first section of this street so that it is possible to return to Islas Canarias Avenue.

As a result, several parking spaces will be temporarily removed. This will be indicated by signs that will be installed from 6 a.m. on Monday until the work is completed.

The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, says that they are continuing to improve roads, especially those that are heavily used and in need of repair. He apologizes for the temporary inconvenience, but promises that the road will be better and safer for everyone after the repairs.

The councillor for public utilities, Carlos Tarife, reminds that the repairs are necessary and cost almost 290,000 euros. He assures that the works are coordinated in such a way as to interfere as little as possible with trams and cars. During the day, paving stones will be removed with small equipment, and at night, new asphalt will be laid.

The city hall informs that the works will take place in two stages: paving stones will be removed during the day (from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), and new asphalt will be laid at night (from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.).

Access to garages will be available, and residents and emergency services will be shown how to get around. The works have been coordinated with tram, bus and police companies. Last week, the road was already repaired uphill, from Venezuela Avenue to the Ángel Romero roundabout.
