In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a tourist bus with an audio guide in Ukrainian has been launched.
A new City Sightseeing tourist bus has been launched in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with the option to hop on and off at any stop, and island residents will receive discounts and free rides.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife has launched a new tourist bus! Now, visitors to the city can comfortably explore all the main attractions.
The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, says that the main feature of this bus is the ability to get on and off at any stop. This will help tourists to get to know different parts of the city better and will support local businesses.
"We knew that Santa Cruz simply needed such a bus," says Bermúdez. "It hasn't been operating since the pandemic, and now it has been given to City Sightseeing for 8 years with the possibility of extension." The mayor also added that the buses are environmentally friendly, have an ECO label, help develop tourism, create jobs and prevent tourists from crowding only in popular places.
Carmen Pérez, the director of the company that organized the project, said that the bus route has 13 stops. Among them are Palmetum, the Tenerife Auditorium, the stadium, Plaza Weyler, the Military Museum, the market, MUNA, TEA and the House of Carnival. She urged all local residents to take the opportunity and get to know their city better.
Buses depart every 20 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from the main stop near the Plaza de España. In the mobile application, you can track where the bus is, find out about interesting places and excursions. There is also an audio guide in 11 languages that will tell you about the city. Headphones for the audio guide are provided free of charge, and there is a children's version in 5 languages.
A ticket for adults costs 20 euros, for children from 7 to 16 years old – 10 euros. Children under 6 years old travel for free. And for residents of Tenerife there is a 75% discount! So an adult ticket will cost only 5 euros, and a children's ticket – 2.50 euros. The ticket is valid for 24 hours and can be used on any day of the year. You can buy it in advance and activate it within 12 months.
Carmen Pérez also announced that an information campaign is currently underway for local residents to learn about the new bus and start using it.
And also, on August 12, 13, 14, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31, residents of Tenerife will be able to ride the bus for free! This is a great opportunity to take a fresh look at Santa Cruz.
