Titsa Launches Special Transport Plan for Fiestas del Carmen in Puerto de la Cruz
Titsa has implemented a special transport contingency plan featuring increased service frequencies and temporary route diversions to manage traffic during the Fiestas del Carmen in Puerto de la Cruz.
Managing traffic in Puerto de la Cruz during the Fiestas del Carmen is a recurring challenge for local authorities due to the large crowds in the town center. To handle the expected surge in passengers, the public transport operator, Titsa, has launched a special contingency plan starting Monday, July 14.
The plan involves significant changes to bus operations. Service frequency will increase on eleven key routes connecting Puerto de la Cruz to the rest of the island: lines 100, 102, 103, 104, 345, 351, 352, 353, 354, 363, and 390. Additionally, urban lines 381 and 382 will run on a holiday schedule on July 14 and 15 to match the festival's pace.
Festive events will also force temporary route changes. From July 10 to 15, lines 381 and 382 will be diverted via Calle Valois, Punta de la Carretera, Carretera de Las Arenas, Avenida Melchor Luz, Avenida Hermanos Fernández Perdigón, Calle El Peñón, and Calle El Pozo. During this time, the Zamora (4904), Plaza del Charco (4905), and San Felipe-La Peñita (4906) stops will be closed.
The most significant changes occur between 8:00 a.m. on July 14 and 9:00 a.m. the following day. During this period, the terminus for lines 381 and 382 will move to Avenida Familia Betancourt y Molina (near Calle Enrique Talg), and the Plaza Reyes Católicos stop (4973) will be suspended.
Titsa encourages passengers to check official channels for updates to help plan their travel and avoid any disruption caused by road closures or relocated bus stops.
