Three of four suspects have been remanded in custody following a violent kidnapping in northern Tenerife where the victim was held at knifepoint and robbed of his bank details.

Three of four people involved in a violent kidnapping in northern Tenerife have been sent to prison. The investigation began after a victim managed to escape his captors in Tacoronte and reported the incident to the Civil Guard.

According to the victim, the attackers used a "sleeper hold" to knock him unconscious before taking him to a house. He was held captive for several hours, during which the group used a katana to threaten him and force him to hand over his bank account details so they could steal his money.

Police from Puerto de la Cruz and Tacoronte quickly identified the property where the man was held. With a judicial warrant, officers—supported by the GRS 8 unit and specialist police dogs—raided the home. They recovered 855 euros in cash, the victim’s phone, his clothing, the katana used in the attack, and tape used to restrain him.

During the search, officers also discovered stolen construction tools and equipment used for weighing drugs, suggesting the group was involved in ongoing criminal activity.

The four suspects—two men and two women—have appeared in court. Three have been remanded in custody while the investigation continues. Authorities noted that the quick reporting by the victim was vital in preventing a potentially fatal outcome.
