
Three Injured in Serious Head-on Collision in Tenerife
Three young people were hospitalized following a serious head-on collision in San Miguel de Abona, Tenerife, on Thursday evening.
Road safety in Tenerife is back in the spotlight after a serious accident in San Miguel de Abona this Thursday left three young people injured. The crash occurred on Avenida Claudio Delgado Díaz shortly after 8:30 p.m. when a vehicle collided head-on with a wall.
The incident required a major emergency response. Firefighters from the Tenerife Consortium had to use specialized equipment to free a young man who was trapped inside the wreckage. He was in the most serious condition and received immediate treatment from a medical team from the Los Cristianos health center. The Canary Islands Emergency Service dispatched four ambulances to the scene to transport all three victims to the hospital.
While paramedics treated the injured, the Civil Guard managed traffic and began an investigation into the cause of the crash. Authorities are looking into whether speed, road conditions, or driver distraction played a role.
