Road safety on Tenerife’s major highways is back in the spotlight after a multi-vehicle crash on the TF-2 last Sunday night. According to the Canary Islands’ emergency services (CECOES 112), the accident occurred at 10:29 p.m. near kilometer 5 in La Laguna, leaving three people injured.
The collision involved three cars, prompting a swift response from emergency teams to treat the injured and manage traffic on the busy route. Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene to stabilize the victims before taking them to local hospitals. A 28-year-old man was taken to Quirón Tenerife Hospital with moderate bruising, while a 44-year-old man was also admitted there with mild neck pain. A third person, aged 46, was taken to San Juan de Dios Hospital with minor injuries.
Firefighters from the Tenerife Emergency Consortium secured the area, while road maintenance crews cleared debris to get traffic moving again. The Civil Guard is now investigating the crash to determine exactly what happened.
This incident on the heavily used TF-2 serves as a reminder of the importance of staying alert behind the wheel, particularly at night. Authorities continue to urge drivers to exercise extra caution in high-traffic areas and junctions, where quick reactions are essential to prevent chain-reaction accidents.
