Three men were hospitalized following a two-car collision in Santa Úrsula that sent one vehicle plunging down an embankment.

Road safety on Tenerife’s secondary routes is under scrutiny again following a crash this afternoon in Santa Úrsula. According to the Canary Islands’ 112 emergency service, two cars collided on Calle Fuente Ravelo, causing one of the vehicles to veer off the road and tumble down a steep embankment.

Emergency teams, including firefighters, Civil Protection, and medical staff, were called to the scene shortly before 4:00 p.m. Fortunately, the occupants were able to climb out of their vehicles before help arrived, which likely prevented more serious injuries.

Medical teams treated three men at the scene. A 23-year-old man, who sustained a moderate chest injury, was taken to Hospiten Bellevue. Two others—a 22-year-old and a third individual of unspecified age—were taken to the local health center with minor facial injuries and bruising.

The accident highlights the risks posed by Tenerife’s rugged terrain, where collisions near ravines can quickly turn dangerous. While the local police investigate the cause of the crash, the incident serves as a reminder to drive with extra caution on the island’s steep, winding roads.
