The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Exhibition Centre will host the third round of the 2026 Carnival Adult Murgas Contest this Wednesday, the 28th, starting at 8:30 PM. Five groups will compete, and the evening will begin with a special performance by Mamelones, a children's murga group who won second prize for Interpretation last week at the same venue.

In this third phase, Guachinquietas, Burlonas, Marchilongas, Trapaseros, and Avispados will perform. This promises to be a crucial night in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival competition.

Also on the panel are Martha Sofía Quiñones, an actress and scriptwriter for the Tragaluz Puppet Company and director of theatre schools; Carolina Gil Hernández, a clown and artist for Farandulitis Aguda; and Alejandro Gómez González, a journalist for Radio Televisión Canaria.

Additionally, Televisión Canaria will broadcast live all phases and the final of the 2026 Carnival Murgas Contest. The final is set for Saturday, the 31st, at 8:00 PM, and will feature the eight murga groups that achieved the highest Interpretation scores in the earlier rounds.
