In Tenerife, the prosecutor's office is seeking 10 years in prison for three men accused of attempting to murder a tram passenger and causing him serious bodily harm.

The Tenerife Prosecutor's Office is seeking 10-year prison sentences for three men accused of attacking a tram passenger. They also want to force them to jointly pay 25,500 euros in compensation, of which 1,600 euros are for the victim's treatment. They are considered guilty of attempted murder.

According to the investigation, last September, these three, two of whom already had problems with the law, were waiting for their victim at the Las Mantecas station. It turned out that two of them had previously had a conflict with this man.

Prosecutors say the attackers abruptly opened the tram doors to attack him and take his life.

They tried to pull the man out of the car, grabbing his head, legs, arms, and clothes.

When they failed because he clung to the handrails, one of the attackers blocked the door, and the other two began hitting him in the head and face with their hands and fists.

The victim managed to break free and escape into the tram, but they chased him and continued to beat him.

According to prosecutors, one of the attackers took out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the face and neck. The man managed to escape thanks to other passengers, but the attack continued on the platform until the attackers fled, seeing people approaching them.

The victim was found to have numerous wounds on his face and head, including an 11-centimeter wound on his cheek, a broken nose and jaw, as well as bruises on his ear, neck, wrist, arm, and fingers.

It took 59 stitches and 35 days to heal the wounds, one of which he spent in the hospital. Scars remained on his face. The wounds on the neck were particularly dangerous because they were close to blood vessels.

All three defendants are in custody pending trial, which will take place on September 15.
