The Cabildo, the Council, and Icavi will collaborate to implement the "Housing Voucher for Youth" program in Tenerife to help young people with rent.

The Cabildo, together with the Council for Cooperation between Municipalities and Housing, and the Canarian Housing Institute (Icavi), will help implement the "Housing Voucher for Youth" program on our island. This was announced by the Vice President of the island, Lope Afonso, and the Councilor for Cooperation between Municipalities and Housing, Sonia Hernández. This program will allow young people to receive money for housing rent, making it easier for them to start independent living and have decent housing.

Sonia Hernández explained that the "Housing Voucher for Youth" is a program managed by autonomous communities. This collaboration aims to give young people more opportunities to obtain housing. "We want to create a fund that will complement the Icavi fund to help young people from the island. It will be able to start operating in 2026," she added.

Lope Afonso emphasized that "from the very beginning, we wanted the Cabildo to help the residents of Tenerife solve the housing problem." He understands that "this is one of the biggest problems for people. This program shows that the Cabildo really cares about the youth of Tenerife."
