In Tenerife, the "Tower of Clouds" will open: a virtual journey into the world of science and the Teide volcano.
The interactive scientific-historical project "Tower of Clouds," which combines virtual reality, historical exhibits, and lectures about the Teide volcano, will open in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on October 2.
Something incredible is opening in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on October 2nd – the "Tower of Clouds"! This is the first project in Spain where you can truly feel like you're inside science, history, and emotions, as if Teide National Park is coming to life.
This is all thanks to Teleférico del Teide (Volcano Teide) and their scientific platform, TeideLab. For the first time, they have combined 360º virtual reality, historical artifacts, large replicas, lectures by cool experts from around the world, and unique videos filmed directly from the top of the volcano.
Imagine being able to virtually walk to the top of Teide, see amazing volcanic and meteorological phenomena. And also – take a look at the old cable car cabin, which is already over 50 years old, visit the inside of the meteorological tower and learn about scientific projects that study plants high in the mountains and how the climate is changing.
In addition, famous scientists such as Juan Carlos Carracedo, Valentin Troll and Matilda Arnay will speak. And they will even show excerpts from the documentary "Tower of Clouds", which they are currently working on.
TeideLab is doing everything to make Teide an important center for research, tourism and nature conservation. They want everyone to be able to touch science and learn more about the Canary Islands.
"Tower of Clouds" awaits you in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from October 2, 2025. The project is supported by Cabildo de Tenerife, Fundación CajaCanarias, Fundación "la Caixa", AEMET, the University of La Laguna and Teide National Park.
