In Fasnia, the central Plaza de la Constitución and Calle El Calvario will be renovated for one million euros, making them more accessible and modern.

In the town of Fasnia, they decided to renovate the main Constitution Square and El Calvario road. This will be a major renovation in the very center, which will cost just over a million euros. They plan to finish in about a year.

The exact amount is €1,006,074, and the whole thing will take 11 and a half months. The work will be carried out gradually so as not to stop life in the city.

Why did they decide to renovate? Because the square has long needed changes. It is currently not very convenient for people with disabilities: there are many high curbs and steps. And there is little greenery, the flowerbeds are empty. In addition, the appearance of the square does not really suit the church and other important buildings nearby. And El Calvario Street is too narrow, and it is difficult for pedestrians to pass cars.

The plans include installing a sculpture dedicated to the local dance with colored ribbons. And also to restore the old water channels. They will not only drain rainwater, but also remind of the importance of water in the history of this region.

What exactly will they do? They will pave the entire square and streets with new paving stones. They will lay new pipes for lighting, internet and sewerage. They will install new benches, bins and plant trees with automatic watering. They will do everything to make it convenient for people with disabilities to move around: they will install ramps and remove curbs.

They will also build a parking lot behind the church where you can charge an electric car. And a playground with a sun canopy.

The mayor of the city, Luis Javier González, says that this is a very important project for Fasnia. It will help to renovate the oldest part of the city and make the church the main place on the square.
