The La Orotava Short Film Festival received 600 submissions for its 20th anniversary competition, which will take place in early November with screenings at the Yelmo cines La Villa cinema.
The La Orotava Short Film Festival has closed submissions for the 2025 competition. This year, a whopping 600 short films were submitted!
The festival in Villa celebrates its anniversary – it will be held for the 20th time. Everything is planned for the first week of November. Among all the works, there are 80 documentaries, 30 animated films, and 50 works by directors from the Canary Islands.
This year, the main events of the festival will take place at the Yelmo cines La Villa – La Orotava cinema. On November 6, short films competing in the Canarian section will be shown – there will be works by local authors.
On November 7, the screening of films from the official program will start and will continue on November 8. On the last day, the winners in both categories will be announced. Tickets for all festival events will soon be available for purchase on the website www.festivalcortosorotava.com.
In 2025, the La Orotava Film Festival will once again offer many interesting things, such as the already familiar Off section. The festival is organized by Cinenfoque together with the La Orotava City Council, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Island Council of Tenerife, and various private organizations.
