INSULARIA Film Festival: "Islands of the World in the Network" returns in 2025!
The Spanish-language film festival INSULARIA, dedicated to island films, will take place from October 2 to 12, 2025, in the Canary Islands, with a program that will include film screenings, workshops, and special sections, including those dedicated to Scotland and women's cinema.
The INSULARIA International Film Festival, known as the "Islands of the World Online," invites you to its ninth year! It will take place from October 2 to 12, 2025.
INSULARIA is a unique Spanish-language film festival dedicated to films made on islands. It has become a true meeting place for island cultures from around the world.
The main location of the festival is the island of El Hierro, but it traditionally travels to all eight of the Canary Islands. A program awaits you that combines cinema, art, music, and literature. There will be workshops, lectures, discussions, and educational events.
What's interesting this year:
- Opening of the festival with the film "The Island of Lies" (2020).
- Special program "Guest Island" in collaboration with the Glasgow Short Film Festival, where Scotland plays the main role.
- KM.0 section, where Candela Peña will be a member of the jury.
- "Panorama" with 11 films from different parts of the world, such as the Philippines, Réunion, and Chiloé.
- "Ecoislands" – continuation of international cooperation.
- "Islands of Women" – the third year of cooperation with CIMA.
- Bafta Shorts – national premiere of short films nominated for and awarded by Bafta.
