The Nothing Room studio-gallery in Puerto de la Cruz launches its "An Artist and His Month" project this Monday at 7 PM with "Dancing Colors" by Italo Somma, an exhibition translating music into soft, photographic-like canvases.

The Nothing Room studio-gallery, directed by artist Renata Castilho at 71 La Hoya Street in Puerto de la Cruz, will launch its "An Artist and His Month" project this Monday at 7:00 PM. The first exhibition in this series is "Dancing Colors" by Italo Somma (born in Naples in 1957).

The Nothing Room notes that in his new work, Somma, an Italian artist living in Tenerife, translates music into colors and forms. These elements "glide like dancers over a very smooth and very soft canvas."

The gallery explains that the canvases are so soft that "at first glance, we have the sensation of looking at a photographic print." However, a deeper look reveals the delicate details, showing how Somma paints with attention and lightness to make a "pictorial score resonate." For him, the brush is a baton, and the paint, the instruments.

The "Dancing Colors" exhibition runs at The Nothing Room until February 28th. You can visit from Tuesday to Saturday, between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
