Major road repairs to begin in La Laguna
Extensive asphalt renovation works are starting in La Laguna on the streets of La Verdellada, Las Gavias, and Los Majuelos, which will last for several weeks.
Roadwork is coming to La Laguna! In the coming days, municipal services will begin to renew the asphalt and improve the road surface on the streets of La Verdellada, Las Gavias, and Los Majuelos. This is part of a major plan to repair and maintain roads in the city.
First, starting on Monday, August 25, work will begin on Calle Doctor Miguel Melo Benito in Las Gavias. This is a long street, 635 meters, running parallel to Camino Las Gavias. It is important because it leads to many houses in this area of La Laguna.
The asphalt here will be repaired for five days, section by section: first from Atchona streets to Pedro González, and then to the intersection with Camino Tornero.
From Tuesday, August 26, work will also begin in the Los Majuelos industrial area, on Avenida La Libertad. Traffic will have to be closed in the downward direction.
Initially, Teidagua will improve the sewer system, and from September 8 to 12, new asphalt will be laid here – from Avenida El Paso to Calle Aceviño and all the way to the intersection with the TF-2 highway.
Finally, starting September 1, municipal services will begin work on Calle Francisco Afonso Carrillo in La Verdellada. This is one of the main streets, as it leads to the square and the local community center.
About 290 meters of the road will be renovated here – from Avenida La Salle to Calle Cruz de Marca. By the way, the sidewalks here have already been repaired and made more convenient for pedestrians.
Ángel Chinea, responsible for roads in the mayor's office, says that these repairs are being done where the roads are the worst and where there is the most traffic. The main goal is to make the roads safe for everyone.
Municipal services are asking residents to be understanding of the temporary inconveniences and to pay attention to the signs and instructions of the workers. Changes in access to garages will be announced additionally.
