The best documentary at DocuRock 11 was recognized as "One to One: John & Yoko" about John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and the festival will conclude with a Vargas Blues Band concert on November 14.

At the DocuRock festival, "One to One: John & Yoko" about John Lennon and Yoko Ono was recognized as the best documentary film. The directors are Kevin Macdonald and Sam Rice-Edwards. The film received the "Golden Fist" award for showing not only the last concert of the legendary musician, but also a cross-section of American society in 1972.

DocuRock film screenings took place in various locations: at the Príncipe Felipe Theater (Tegueste), as well as in the cities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna, and La Orotava. Viewers saw films about Led Zeppelin, Spanish music, nature, and other interesting topics.

The festival continues its educational program, Docurock Educa, showing films in schools in Tenerife. This year, there were about 20 such screenings. In addition to cinema, the festival featured 8 concerts with performances by various musicians.

DocuRock is not only about film screenings. As part of the festival, there was a concert by the young Canarian singer María Pérez, as well as the opening of the Txowie photo exhibition about a musician from the band Las Ratas, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Also, the duo Genuine performed at the festival, whose music is reminiscent of the southern states of America, in particular the sound of Memphis and classic R&B Chicago.

The festival will end on November 14 with a concert by the Vargas Blues Band in La Laguna. Javier Vargas, the leader of the band, is a true guitar legend who plays blues with elements of rock, soul, Latin American music, and flamenco.

DocuRock 11 is supported by local authorities. More information about the festival can be found on the website docurock.es.
