The DocuRock film festival will feature "One to One: John & Yoko," a film about Lennon and Ono's move to the United States and their iconic 1972 concert, with Kim Simmons performing before the screening.

On Saturday, October 11, the DocuRock film festival will screen the film about John Lennon and Yoko Ono – "One to One: John & Yoko" by Kevin Macdonald and Sam Rice-Edwards. The screening will begin at 8:30 PM at the Príncipe Felipe Theater in Tegueste. The film will be shown in its original language with Spanish subtitles.

The film tells the story of an important period in the lives of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the starting point of which was their One to One Benefit Concert in New York on August 30, 1972. It was Lennon's only full concert after the breakup of The Beatles, where he performed with Yoko.

The film shows how in 1971 the couple moved to the United States and lived in a small apartment in Greenwich Village, watching television. With the help of American television of that time, viewers will see the Vietnam War, "The Price is Right" show, Nixon, and Coca-Cola commercials – everything that John and Yoko saw on the screen. The film tells the story of a year of change and love, when Lennon and Ono began to express their protest in a new way, which led to the One to One concert, inspired by a report by Geraldo Rivera that they saw on television.

Before the film screening, at 8:00 PM, singer Kim Simmons will perform.

The film "One to One: John & Yoko" uses many previously unknown materials, including home videos and recordings of phone conversations between John Lennon and Yoko Ono. The film also recreates a copy of their apartment in New York. This provides a unique opportunity to look at an important stage in the life of one of the most famous couples in music.

Kim Simmons will perform her first songs in Spanish. Her style is pop music with elements of jazz, blues, swing, and funk.

Tickets for the Kim Simmons concert and the screening of the film "One to One: John & Yoko" will be available on the day of the event at the Príncipe Felipe Theater for 3 euros.

The DocuRock 11 festival is supported by the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canary Institute for Cultural Development, and the Department of Culture of the La Laguna City Council. More information is available on the website docurock.es.
