Tenerife: Bureaucracy blocks TF-1 expansion, entrepreneurs sound the alarm.
The head of the Tenerife Business Association is sounding the alarm about bureaucratic delays that are hindering the expansion of the TF-1 highway, which is critical to the island's economy.
Javier Cabrera, head of the Business Association, is sounding the alarm: "Because of a mountain of paperwork, we haven't been able to move forward with an important project for a year!"
Cabrera Amador says directly: "If we don't take action now, everything could fall apart, and this is very important to us." He believes that "we cannot tolerate bureaucracy constantly causing traffic jams in the south of Tenerife. Maybe we should declare a state of emergency again?"
The president of the southern business association calls the TF-1 highway "the main transport artery of our island." Therefore, Javier Cabrera insists: "If we don't expand the road, we are jeopardizing our economy and future. No more excuses and delays!"
Therefore, the Association of Entrepreneurs and Professionals of the South of Tenerife "calls on the authorities to act responsibly and pay due attention to this problem." They warn that they will not remain silent "while the south of Tenerife suffers from constant traffic jams."
The Association says that the situation is already seriously affecting all areas of life and "restricting the freedom of movement of people in the south." Entrepreneurs remind that "the delay in solving the problem is slowing down the development of Tenerife" and that "thousands of people suffer every day in traffic jams that turn into real psychological torture."
The tender for the construction of the third lane of the TF-1 between San Isidro and Playa de las Américas has not yet been announced. And this needs to be done quickly, because the construction permit covering the entire project may expire. Although part of the work has already been done, it must be completed this year, including the new Las Chafiras interchange.
